Bell Helmets

It’s no coincidence that Bell is both the first name in speed and the first name in helmets. Born in the 1950's California hot rod and racing scene, Bell founder Roy Richter built an entire industry anticipating the unmet needs of those with a speed-hungry disposition. People wanted to drive fast … he corralled all the go-fast parts he could find into the world’s first speed shop. They wanted to race … he built them race cars. And when the need-for-speed started to reveal some grim realities, Roy did something about that too and Bell Helmets was born.

Roy Richter spent his life removing the limits of what was possible — and his unlimited spirit has been Bell’s guiding light for nearly 60 years, earning the admiration, trust and loyalty of generations of champions. Throughout those years nearly every advance on the list of helmet “firsts” were built under Bell’s auspices. That drive to anticipate and create continues, as much a part of Bell’s ethos today as it was back in Roy’s day.

Our Philosophy
Anything Bell is designed to fulfill a specific set of needs — without frosting. The Bell aesthetic is uniquely appealing in its purpose-built utility in the same way a race car or fighter jet is designed with every aspect of its function in mind. That they are beautiful in their ultimate aesthetic is secondary. In the end we are creating an essential performance tool. We build it to use it.

Perhaps no other team has worked so diligently to achieve success over the course of 30 years as MCRE. Over the years, they have successfully launched corporate sponsorships in national series, developed short track and SCCA Road race champions and mentored young upcoming drivers. Lead by Mike Cope, he brings the same enthusiasm, dedication and knowledge to his race team that made him victorious in his own racing career.

Quarter Master®

Founded by Ed Stoffels in 1958, Quarter Master® began its life as a quarter mile drag race chassis manufacturing company (thus the name Quarter Master®). During the formative years, Stoffels, who is a racer and machinist, went beyond chassis building and was among the first to bring multi-plate style clutches to the U.S. for use in race cars. Stoffels seized the opportunity of producing the multi-plate style clutches in the early 1970s. In the ensuing years Quarter Master® rapidly became the major player of the design and manufacturing of racing clutches, concentrating on the Circle Track market. By 1976 the company had evolved into a full manufacturing and service company and was recognized as the industry leader of clutch and clutch component manufacturing.  In addition, to its clutch manufacturing, the company expanded into the production of other Circle Track racing driveline products such as quick change gears for midget and stock cars, flywheels, and many other clutch related mechanisms.
