Stanton Barrett Announces 2017 Racing Plans Starting with Trans Am Series

TEAM RELEASE -- OJAI, Calif. (February 27, 2017)-- Race car driver Stanton Barrett is no slouch when it comes to being busy. Whether it’s stunt or stunt-coordinating in a major motion picture like LOGAN driving double for Hugh Jackman, behind the camera directing his next movie or tucked behind the wheel of a race car, Barrett’s wheels are constantly turning.
Despite taking on his newest endeavor as president of Ojai Energetics, an ethics-driven health and wellness company, the Bishop, Calif. native still plans to race.
His official kickoff in 2017 begins with the Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli season-opening event at the famous Sebring International Raceway, Sebring, FL. on Mar. 5 in the TA class.
Barrett looks to run a full schedule this season driving for Tony Ave Motorsports with championship efforts in mind and creative collaborations with Ojai Energetics and other business partners looking to reach the mass base of highly coveted road racing demographic.
Barrett will drive the No. 33 Chevrolet. The number holds a significance to the avid racer as it was the same Trans Am number driven by his godfather Paul Newman.
“I’m excited to get back to my roots of road course racing and running the number of Paul who has been a huge influence in my racing and in my life,” said Barrett. “The Trans Am Series is a good series where I can go out there have fun and compete in an extremely competitive series with a substantial racing history. My schedule is full right now, but Tony (Ave) and his team have really opened the door to allow me to focus on my new role at Ojai Energetics, while using a sport to reach a mass fan base with a positive product and message for everyday healthy living.”
