Godwin Motorsports was founded by Jamison Strain, Team Owner. Jamison's love for racing was inspired by his uncle, Kenneth Godwin. Kenneth was a racing fanatic, whether in person or watching from home. In 2014, Kenneth suffered from a brain bleed and needed full-time care. Jamison and his mother, Sheryl, moved Kenneth from Chattanooga, Tennesee to Houston, Texas to give him the care and rehabilitation required. In the fall of 2016, Kenneth Godwin passed away, but his legacy lives on through Godwin Motorsports.
