VIRginia is For Victory For Paul Fix

Alton, VA (September 29, 2015)- Not even Mother Nature could hamper the efforts Paul Fix and the #4 Stopflex.com/CarCoach/RoyalPurple/Well-Worth Chevrolet Corvette at Virginia International Raceway this past weekend. Fix succeeded in accomplishing back to back wins at the circuit and grabbing a significant handful of much needed points in the 2015 Trans Am Series Championship contest. With his decisive victory at VIR, Fix is now placed a mere fourteen points shy of first place overall in the season standings. Three races remain on the 2015 campaign trail and Fix is closing in on his first Trans Am title.

Relentless rain and constant wet track conditions served notice that this year’s stop at VIR would be challenging for all competitors. However for Fix, the game plan remained unchanged…get a win and the related points.

“The rain never creates any perplexion for us,” noted Fix. “The team worked on a ‘wet’ setup during the various practice session and our strategy was to finish up front. It all worked out as planned.”

Fix led the most laps in enroute to his second consecutive win at VIR. Starting second on the field, based on points as qualifying was rained out, Fix meticulously navigated the slick racing surface and paced himself to be at the front when the checkered flag flew.

“I knew with the type of weather and associated track conditions we were experiencing that there would be numerous yellow flag periods. I stayed focused on running my race and letting the others fend for themselves,” said Fix.

On lap seven when the race leader slid off course, Fix surged ahead and never relinquished the first place position. Leading the field to the end, Fix won the TA class and the race overall.

“There is an old saying ‘you have to be there at the end’,” said Fix. “That’s exactly how the team at Tony Ave Racing approached this event, thus the results we achieved. I am pleased and thankful for all their efforts in providing me with such a phenomenal race car every weekend.”

Paul Fix will next compete at Nola Motorsports Park, a new venue on the Trans Am schedule, October 11th. Heading down South Fix will be looking for the Big Easy and another winner’s trophy.
