Tilton Engineering Inc. Named the "Official Clutch & Brake Controls" Trans Am.

The Trans Am Race Company LLC., today announced Tilton Engineering has been named the "Official Clutch & Brake Controls" of Trans Am, America's Road Racing Series.

"I'm extremely pleased to have Tilton on board as a sponsor," said John Clagett, President of The Trans Am Race Company, LLC. "Tilton Engineering has long been the preferred clutch and brake control provider of Trans Am competitors, and so it is only fitting that now we can recognize that with an official product designation. Tilton has been a loyal supporter of the series since the company was founded.”

"We are excited to partner with Trans Am as the official clutch & brake controls supplier to the series," said Tilton's Director of Sales and Marketing, Kirk Skaufel. "Tilton Engineering has a long history with Trans Am, dating back to the late 1960s. Our founder, McLane (Mac) Tilton, received the 1968 Trans Am 'Mechanic of the Year' award while working as chief engineer/mechanic for the champion winning Milestone Racing Porsche team and was the crew chief for 1971 and 1972 championship winning Brock Racing Enterprises (BRE) Datsun 510 team. The demanding and fast paced racing action of Trans Am provides an excellent avenue to showcase Tilton clutches and brake controls. This partnership also gives us a great opportunity to support the competitors in the series."
