Thomas Annunziata Joins Race-Winning Nitro Motorsports for Full Trans Am TA2 Campaign

Brian Keselowski to Lead No. 90 Team in 2023
New Jersey Young Gun Thomas Annunziata looks to make a season long run with the Nitro Motorsports 90 car in quest for Wilwood Rookie of the Year, Young Guns, and Championship points. The Duo ended the year together at Circuit of the Americas in strong fashion landing on the podium with an impressive 3rd place in only his second series start with over 50 competitors in the Trans Am Big Machine Vodka SPIKED Coolers TA2 Series.
Leading the 90 Nitro Motorsports team this year will be NASCAR veteran Brian Keselowski. Keselowski has found success in the Sunshine State in the past including making the 2011 Daytona 500 as a driver in a family owned entry. Keselowski’s experience behind the wheel and vast experience in NASCAR as a crew chief will be an asset for the young Annunziata as he looks to carve his own path to the top. The duo will look to start off strong at Sebring after an initial test together at Road Atlanta.

Nitro Motorsports owner Nick Tucker echoes Thomas’s excitement for the year. “I have watched Thomas grow as a driver from a young kid racing karts with our Nitro Kart division into a mature, quick race driver. After our success at COTA in the final event of the year together I knew he was a driver that Nitro Motorsports could win races with. I can’t explain enough how happy I am that he will be joining our season long efforts.”
2023 is the 57th Trans Am Series season and it's being launched at the same track that hosted the first-ever Trans Am race with nearly 50 cars scheduled to compete in the TA2 race on Sebring’s famous 3.74-mile circuit. The TA2 competitors take to the track on Thursday, February 23 with optional testing sessions both in the morning and in the afternoon. There are practice sessions on Friday with qualifying sessions in two groups starting at 2:30pm on Friday. The TA2 race, a 100 grueling miles in distance, kicks the season off at 12:45pm on Saturday, February 25, 2023.

Nitro Motorsports was founded in 2021with the goal to provide race winning and proven development for young drivers. In Nitro’s first full season the team won 25% of the Trans Am TA2 series races and looks to improve on that with added staff, drivers, and resources.
