The 2023 Season Kicks Off for Weaver Racing Concepts/ECC Motorsports
February 24, 2023

This weekend at Sebring International Raceway, sister teams Weaver Racing Concepts and ECC Motorsports will take the green flag with two talented veteran NASCAR drivers behind the wheel. Paul Menard and Boris Said will be in identical Weaver Gen 3 Dodge Challengers in the TA class.
It brings the two drivers together for the first time in over two decades, as the two drivers were teammates back in the days when Boris Said was winning the 2002 TA championship. Paul and Boris were teammates in the early 2000’s driving for ACS Express racing, owned by Mike Davis out of Huntington Beach, California.
This weekend, the pair will be running Penske build engines 358 and NASCAR four-speed transmissions. Team Weaver and ECC Motorsports works really hard to showcase great cars, with iconic sponsors and talented celebrity drivers. In 2022, the Weaver No. 2 earned three poles (Kaz Grala: Mid-Ohio and Road America, Boris Said: COTA) and one race (Kaz Grala: Road America) and ran competitively in every race it was entered.
“I’m looking for an awesome, competitive weekend with the talent that's showing up in the TA paddock for this opening race for Trans Am in 2023,” said Weaver Racing owner Pancho Weaver. “I would really like to thank our sponsors this weekend. Technique is back for its fifth year with Weaver racing. Owner Ronnie Johncox has been a great help and a good friend, and his company is responsible for all the new Gen NASCAR Cup Series chassis. A new sponsor this year is Millennium Jet. The company has a jet service from 45 passengers down to seven passenger jets for all your private and corporate needs. We're also representing Menards home centers. John Menard has over 300 stores in the Midwest. We're glad to have them be a part of the weekend.”
“This year, Accio Data owned by Barry Bose returns, and he's been a great help,” Weaver continued. I also, of course, want to thank my engine builders, Chris Sumner and Scott Collier from the Penske group. Going on our sixth year with these awesome engine builders. I really couldn't be competitive without their amazing help. Pro Systems Brakes keep these cars slowed down for those tight corners. Finally, I want to thank the guys in the shop: Nathan Slusser, Derek Stamets and Shane McDonald. Without these guys, it's absolutely impossible.”
