Showtime Motorsports Offering Fast Track to Trans Am Success

Franklin, TENNESSEE – October 11, 2021 - Boasting a track record that includes a national Trans Am Championship, namely the 2020 Extreme GT title, and a wealth of experience and expertise very few could even attempt to match. Showtime Motorsports of Franklin, Tennessee are industry leaders in professional racing with the fully prepared car required to challenge at the top level of North American Motorsports. For the 2022 season the team has available seats in both TA1 and TA2, both incredible opportunities to go for the right driver.

“Showtime Motorsports will be adding a second TA car to our stable for the 2022 Trans Am season,” stated Ken. “It will be identical to the Ave chassis, ECR Engine, EMCO sequential transmission and JRI Shocks equipped car that we campaigned this year in the 2021 season. With one remaining race this year, we have fielded a car that has finished 9 out of 10 races. This car is a turnkey program and is available to funded drivers on a per race or season basis.

We are also offering our brand new TA2 Mike Cope chassis, Choice Engine and JRI Shocks race car on a per race basis or a full season of TA2. Again, a turnkey program to funded drivers, just arrive and drive.”

Showtime Motorsports is the brainchild of Camaro legend Ken Thwaits. Ken began racing karts at the age of 13, when his father got him involved in the Southern California racing scene. In 1977, he moved to racing Formula Fords, crowning his racing career in 1985 by winning the Pro Formula Mazda Championship over well-known racers like Tommy Kendall, Jeff Krosnoff, and Johnny O’Connell, to name a few. From Ken’s love of racing and all things cars, his entrepreneurial vision was born.

In 1993 Ken and Johnny Unser saw an opportunity to utilize their specialized professional driving skill set and industry knowledge to create and grow a new business, Precision Dynamics International (PDI). PDI is now a full-service automotive training and marketing company – working with automotive industry giants such as Nissan and Hyundai – providing dealer training programs, consumer driving events, and meeting and conference events.

Ken got back behind the wheel challenging for honors in 2020 and then made the switch from the Extreme GT Class he raced with so much success last year to the iconic muscle car TA Class that he’s competing in this year where despite being technically a rookie, Ken sits in P4 out of 20 starters and looks booked for the same place when the season finishes after the annual trip to Circuit of The Americas next month.

Having started the season in a Dodge Challenger before graduating to the Franklin Road Apparel Chevrolet Camaro, the Tennessee pilot has already garnered two podium finishes this season in the TA Class, at California’s Laguna Seca and at Virginia International Raceway the last day. Ken has amassed 196 Championship points this season, just 29 fewer than 2020 Champion Ernie Francis Jr.

Now that same experience and know-how is available to drivers looking for a 2022 program via Showtime Motorsports. Ken has a terrific Trans Am outfit and looks to grow the operation and its success in the years to come.
