Nuts and Bolts:
After a one month break, Scott Lagasse Jr. and his crew headed to Homestead-Miami Speedway for Round 2 of the Trans Am presented by Pirelli 2017 season. After a busy few weeks of preparation, TeamSLR felt confident they were taking a fast Screen Your Machine/Beck Chevrolet Camaro to the track.
The crew quickly learned that they were working in the right direction with the Screen Your Machine/Beck Chevrolet as it posted lap times consistently inside the Top-10 during both practices. After few more minor adjustments, Scott Jr. posted the 2nd fastest lap in the field during qualifying. He would start on the outside of the front row for the 45-lap race.
Sunday morning, the green flag flew, and Scott Jr. immediately went in tire conservation mode, with a focus on the last 10 laps of the race. On lap 14, Scott Jr. was running inside the Top-10 when he ran over a piece of debris, cutting the right front tire, ending all hopes of a good finish. The car sustained enough damage to the right side that the team could not repair the car in time to return the race.

"We learned a lot, and are continuing to grow our program. My Screen Your Machine team did an awesome job preparing my car for the race. I hate that we couldn't show our speed for the entire race, but we are confident in the direction we are heading. Sometimes you're the windshield, sometimes you're the bug. This just wasn't our day. Scott Jr. will return to the track in the Trans Am Series with his Screen Your Machine/Beck Chevrolet on May 13th at Road Atlanta. Over the next few weekends, Scott Jr.'s NASCAR Xfinity Series showcar will be at the following events: April 22- Feel the Wheels in St. Augustine at the St. Augustine Outlet Mall & April 23- St. Johns County Kids Triathlon promoting the Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety for Alert Today Alive Tomorrow and the Florida Lottery representing their Bright Futures Scholarship and Just Imagine programs.
