Ruman Set for Traditional Trans Am Memorial Day Classic Weekend at Lime Rock Park

Munroe Falls, Ohio – The Trans Am Championship Presented by Pirelli is going coast to coast as they head to the East coast after wrapping up back-to-back weekends a few weeks ago in California. The Series returns to Lime Rock Park, CT, this weekend for the traditional Memorial Day Classic event as part of the 2025 SpeedTour.
WeatherTech Laguna Seca recap: Ruman drove the No. 23 McNichols Co./Valley Automotive Chevrolet Corvette to a sixth-place finish in the TA class after qualifying in seventh place with the one and only practice session being rained out. “We had some great battles in the race after only getting a few laps during the qualifying session to set up the car,” expressed Ruman. After Round 4, Ruman slipped to fourth place by one point in a very tight Championship points race.
Lime Rock Park features a unique and famous “bullring style” circuit that is a fast, short 1.5-mile, seven-turn natural terrain road course that has one of the highest average-speed laps on the schedule. Lime Rock features high speed corners with names like “Big Bend,” “The Uphill,” “West Bend,” and the final turn called the “Downhill,” a corner that launches the field down the front stretch as lap times click off in less than one minute. Ruman’s best finishes here are two 3rd places in 2012 and 2015.
“I’m eager to return to Lime Rock, it is such an exciting, fast course. Can’t wait to run the uphill again, our cars catch a lot of air there and it can be exhilarating! We have a huge Trans Am fan base at LRP that loves this traditional weekend event, it should be fun with a lot of festivities and great spectating!” exclaimed Ruman.
“As we head into the holiday weekend, we must keep in mind the true meaning of Memorial Day weekend – to remember and honor those who have sacrificed their lives to serve for us in our Armed Forces. So, amid our picnics, parades, and racing, let’s be sure to take time to remember and say a prayer for the service men and women we have lost and their families, as our freedom is not free,” expressed Ruman.
Thirty-six competitors are entered across all Trans Am classes, with six running in Ruman’s TA class. Testing, practices, qualifying, and races will take place Friday through Monday. The CUBE 3 Architecture TA2® Series race will be held at 1:20pmET on Saturday. The TA/GT teams will then take Sunday off as the track continues to uphold its decades-long agreement with the community not to stage races on Sunday. Activities will resume with TA/GT qualifying and the race on Monday May 27th. The TA/GT feature race will be at 12:00pmET – both races will be 68-laps (102-mi). Following Round 4, Paul Menard leads TA National class championship with 393 points, followed by Adam Andretti in second – 381, Tomy Drissi in third – 346, Amy Ruman is fourth – 345, and David Pintaric sits in fifth – with 313 points.
