Ruman Finishes 4th at Road America Trans Am
Munroe Falls, Ohio – Ruman and the team wrapped up Round 7 of the 2023 Trans Am Series Championship Presented by Pirelli last weekend at Road America, WI, taking home a solid fourth place finish in the Denny Lamers Tribute 100 race.
The team had to work through a few gremlins during testing and practice, allowing Ruman limited track time before qualifying. She put together a decent lap qualifying the No. 23 McNichols Co./Valley Automotive Group Chevrolet Corvette in fifth place for Saturday’s race.
The green flag flew and made for an exciting start into turn one on the newly paved Road America circuit. Ruman passed Pintaric and moved into fourth. The pair had great race pace until Ruman eventually got caught up in some lapped traffic, allowing Pintaric to get by. Later in the race, Pintaric faced the same issue which allowed Ruman to get a run on the front straight and tried for a pass into one. The pair tangled and both went off on the outside of one. They were able to continue, but Pintaric retired from an engine failure.
“The newly paved track at Road America was very interesting, definitely different, and quite fast. We had another fantastic race going and was sorry the incident happened in turn one with David, unfortunately things got a little too spicy this time. The crew gave me a great car today,” commented Ruman.
After Round 7, Chris Dyson leads TA National class championship with 701 points, followed by Matthew Brabham in second – 587, Tomy Drissi in third – 577, David Pintaric is fourth – 556, and Amy Ruman is tied for fourth – with 556 points.
