ProFinish Motorsports and Carbaugh Race Engines take the No. 35 Chevy Camaro to Laguna Seca After Portland Charge

Independence, Oregon — September 24, 2026 — ProFinish Motorsports and Carbaugh Race Engines announced today that Driver Aaron Young and the No. 35 will make its second Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli start at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca on October 3, coming off a second-place finish at Portland International Raceway. At Portland, the No. 35 started from the back of the field, led laps, and finished second after a tight race car cost the team the win in the closing stages. The result showed the strength of the joint program: ProFinish’s chassis, setup, and trackside operation paired with Carbaugh’s engine program. That same combination now heads to Laguna Seca for the Western Championship doubleheader weekend of October 2–4. The teams will look for a freer car and a cleaner run through the elevation changes and the Corkscrew. “It was great to lead a few laps, but unfortunately we had a tight race car and slipped to second,” said a spokesman for ProFinish Motorsports. “We will have it better for Laguna.” Laguna Seca rewards a balanced car as much as raw power. After Portland, the focus is to keep the horsepower Carbaugh put under the hood and give Young a car that can attack from the drop of the green flag.

ProFinish Motorsports, based in Independence, Oregon, builds and campaigns Trans Am Cup machinery and provides race-car construction, setup, and arrive-and-drive support for all levels of racing. Carbaugh Race Engines builds the power for the No. 35. Together with partners including Chris Evans Inc. and Jefferson Racing, the two Oregon shops are putting a Northwest-built car on the Trans Am grid.
