Pintaric aims for improvement at Road Atlanta

(Team Release) "Its do or die for me for the season." That is a pretty harsh assessment considering only two of eleven 2014 Trans Am Series Championship races have been run, but for David Pintaric there is real urgency to start this next portion of the schedule with some solid success. That means Pintaric and his KRYDERACING team are determined to push the #57 Corvette to the front of the field at Road Atlanta for the 100 Miles of Luna-C this weekend.

After winning the 2013 Rookie of the Year Pintaric and his bunch spent the off season preparing for a serious run at the 2014 Championship. The first race at Sebring showed Pintaric driving almost heroically, fighting thru an oil leak, to finish a solid 7th place. The next weekend the #57 broke on lap 30 at Homestead Miami Speedway leading to a 15th place finish and an 11th place spot in the points.

Now Pintaric is feeling the pressure. Road Atlanta is the first of two race weekends in a row with Canadian Tire Motorsports Park following immediately on May 17th.

Its the perfect opportunity to rebuild the season in just two weeks. "We dug ourselves a deep hole and we need to start climbing out.", Pintaric said. "I've got to do well. I don't have to win, but we have to get on or close to the podium."

Pintaric has a good track record already at Road Atlanta, which will come in handy for this event. His day job at WRP Investments is keeping him very busy and will keep him from using the Thursday test day. His first laps will come in the Friday official practice, but the team had one of its best events at this track in 2013. Pintaric qualified 7th and then backed that up with racing laps less than a second off the best times of the 3rd place finisher.

A repeat performance at Atlanta would be the set up Pintaric is looking at to set is season back on track. Last season at CTMP David ran a very competitive 4th. After two races, only the top 3 in points have scored two top 5 finishes and Doug Peterson and Simon Gregg barely managed that. Each with one 5th place finish on the card. Two top five finishes for the KRYDERACING bunch could push them right back where they want to be. In the thick of the hunt for the 2014 Trans Am Championship.

The 100 Miles of Luna-C at Road Atlanta starts just before 11:00 am on Saturday May 10th.
