On This Day in Trans Am History: Feb. 5, 1953

Feb. 5, 1953–

Dorsey Schroeder is born in Kirkwood, Missouri. Dorsey won the Trans Am championship as a rookie in 1989, winning six races for Roush Racing. That earned him a prestigious invitation to the International Race of Champions. He went on to win 15 career Trans Am races, finishing in the top five 52 times in 81 races. He attends all Trans Am races, serving as race director of the series.
