On This Day in Trans Am History: Feb. 3, 1967

Feb. 3, 1967:

The 1967-season opening Daytona 300 was won by Bob Tullius in his Group 44 Dodge Dart – the final victory for the Dodge Dart. Peter Gregg earned the under two liter victory in a Porsche 911. Mark Donohue failed to finish the 79-lap race in the Trans Am debut of the Chevrolet Camaro. This was the final victory for the Dodge Dart. Parnelli Jones and Dan Gurney shared the front row after posting identical laps of 104.86 mph in Mercury Cougars prepared by Bud Moore.
