Nitro Motorsports Gears Up for Round Two of the Trans Am Series at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta

March 18, 2025 – Nitro Motorsports is set for the second round of the Trans Am Series Presented by Pirelli as the team heads to the legendary Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta this weekend. As the two-time defending TA2 Class Champion, Nitro Motorsports is bringing another deep roster of nine talented drivers to take on the challenge of the demanding 2.54-mile, 12-turn road course. This includes two drivers behind the wheel of brand-new Toyota Camrys, marking an exciting new chapter for the team.

Driver Lineup for the Trans Am Series Round 2 at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta:

TA2 Class:

  • Tyler Gonzalez (Toyota Camry)
  • Thomas Annunziata (Toyota Camry)
  • Mia Lovell
  • Boris Said Jr.
  • Cale Phillips
  • Julian DaCosta
  • Sam Corry
  • Gian Buffomante

TA Class:

  • Brent Crews

With another strong driver lineup in both the TA2 and TA classes, Nitro Motorsports is aiming for a strong performance following a successful start to the season at the Sebring Raceway just a few weeks ago.

In the opening round of the series, Thomas Annunziata took the victory after a fierce battle, while his teammate Tyler Gonzalez led the majority of the race before a late race issue took him out of contention. The win was important for Annunziata, who is looking to continue his momentum as the season progresses. For Gonzalez, the strong performance demonstrated the potential of another dominating season by Nitro Motorsports.

“We’re incredibly excited to bring such a talented group of drivers to Road Atlanta, especially with the addition of the all-new Toyota Camry in our lineup. It’s a significant step forward for Nitro Motorsports,” explained Nitro Motorsports Team Owner Nick Tucker. “The competition in the Trans Am Series is always intense, but we believe that our experience, the strength of our drivers, and the performance of our equipment will give us an edge again this coming weekend at Road Atlanta.”

Mia Lovell is coming to Road Atlanta after a strong showing last weekend at the Trans Am Series Western Championship as she looks to carry her momentum into Road Atlanta. Joining her will be second generation driver Boris Said Jr., Cale Phillips, Julian DaCosta, Sam Corry and Gian Buffomante.

Brent Crews will be the sole entrant in the TA class and showed his prowess at Sebring. Despite qualifying deep in the field, Crews was able to rebound once wheel-to-wheel racing began driving to the lead. Looking as if he was on his way to victory, an engine issue forced him to the sidelines late in the race.

Tucker added, “We have worked very hard since Sebring to fix the issues that took us out of contention for victory. We’re proud of the hard work we’ve put in as defending champions, and we’re eager to continue the success that we have had.”
