Nitro Motorsports Delivers Dominant Performance at Lime Rock Park

One-Two Finish, Four Drivers in Top Six, Three Podium Results in Total

May 27, 2025 – Nitro Motorsports bounced back in a major way at Lime Rock Park this past Saturday, putting on a clinic in the fifth round of the Trans Am Series Presented by Pirelli’s CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 class. The team not only returned to the podium but swept the top two positions in a powerful display.

Sam Corry led the charge in the #70 Toyota, securing his first career TA2 victory in dominant fashion. Corry ran in the second position early but took the lead late in the race to drive to victory. When the skies opened and soaked the Lime Rock facility prior to the green flag, it was to Corry’s delight. The race win marked a milestone moment for the young racer and the Nitro program as they both added another win to their growing resume.

Not far behind, Thomas Annunziata crossed the line in second place in his #90 Toyota. After scoring his second pole of the season in qualifying, Annunziata led early and proved once again why he’s a championship favorite in 2025. Annunziata’s result secured a statement-making one–two finish for Nitro Motorsports.

“This weekend was a statement,” explained Nick Tucker, Team Owner of Nitro Motorsports. “Sam’s first win, Thomas locking down another podium, and strong performances across the board—it’s the momentum we needed. I’m proud of how everyone responded after a tough outing at Laguna Seca.”

Nitro Motorsport’s Gio Ruggiero brought home a top-five finish and earned the Hard Charger Award. Gian Buffomante continued his momentum from a podium at Laguna Seca, to add a sixth-place result at Lime Rock Park, putting four Nitro Motorsports drivers in the top-six. Julian DaCosta, who qualified in the top-five and showed a solid pace throughout the event, eventually was classified down the running order after a mishap on the slick racing surface. Boris Said Jr., who battled hard through traffic, had his race impacted by contact.

Showing their strength in the National Championship class, Nitro Motorsports also scored a podium finish in Pro/Am with Cale Phillips. Pushing hard throughout the 68-lap affair, Phillips finished tenth overall and second in class, grabbing some hardware for his efforts.

“We’re only getting stronger from here,” added Tucker. “Our goal has always been to lead from the front—and we did that at Lime Rock.”

Nitro Motorsports now sets its sights on the next round at Pittsburgh International Race Complex, taking place June 7–9.
