Mia Lovell Earns Podium in Western Series and Sets Sights on Success at Road Atlanta This Weekend
March 19, 2025

March 19, 2025 – Competing at the first round of the Trans Am Western Series Championship Presented by Pirelli at Buttonwillow Raceway, Mia Lovell is off to a fast start with a P2 podium finish. Lovell will carry that momentum across the country for the second round of the CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series National Championship this coming weekend at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.
“I am super excited about our P2 finish at Buttonwillow,” explained Lovell. “After a rough start to the season with a mechanical DNF at the Sebring Raceway during the opening round of the National Championship, it was great to see the Nitro Motorsports team pull together, and they provided me with a fantastic car for Buttonwillow.”
Digging for the right setup throughout the weekend and finding the speed for qualifying, Lovell started in P2, missing the pole by the slimmest of margins. She shared, “Buttonwillow is a problematic track due to extreme tire degradation. We pushed hard for the right car setup, found speed, and were able to carry that qualifying pace into the race.”
Running at the front of the field, Lovell and the eventual race winner had a hard-fought battle, putting a 40-second gap to the third-place driver before a late race caution forced a restart.
“We had an epic restart, and I was able to take the lead,” continued Lovell. “We went back and forth until Brody made a great move and re-took the lead with three to go. It was a great battle, and we fought hard but clean. I had a ton of fun. Finishing with a podium was a great way to start in the West. We are right where we need to be with points and looking forward to the next National race in Atlanta this coming weekend. I'm super excited to be running with such a great team of people at Nitro Motorsports in a very well-run TA2 series!”
With no time to rest, Lovell will be back in action this coming weekend, but not until she completed a test day on Monday at the Weathertech Raceway Laguna Seca. Traveling from coast-to-coast in the middle of the week, Mia will rejoin her Nitro Motorsports teammates in Braselton, Georgia and be back on track Friday.
