Matthew Butson Set for Trans Am Return with Howe Racing at Indianapolis Motor Speedway

SNOHOMISH, Wash. (June 17, 2026)

Former TA and TA2 driver Matthew Butson returns to the Trans Am Series this week, competing in the GT class at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Butson will be piloting the No. 51 3DBioCAD/XTCERA/Howe Racing HR6 for his series return at Indianapolis MotorSpeedway. The Washington native has previously competed in the TA2 Series, as well as in the TA class with Ave Motorsports. The 24-year-old is a Trans Am West TA2 race winner and, more recently, the 2024 Formula Atlantic Champion. “I am very excited to be back racing in the Trans Am Series again,” expressed Butson. “Big thank you to 3DBioCAD and XTCERA for coming on-board with us this weekend and helping make this possible.” “This will be my first time behind the wheel of the Howe HR6, as well as my first time at Indy,” said Butson. “I’m looking forward to the challenge and bringing home a strong result for the team.” “We’re excited to have two HR6s running in Trans Am this weekend, and with Matt behind the wheel, I know we’ll have very competitive drivers in both of them,” said Charlie Howe, designer and engineer of the Howe HR6. “Indianapolis will be a great venue to continue showcasing what these new cars are capable of.” The Indianapolis event represents an exciting opportunity for Butson, 3DBioCAD, XTCERA, and Howe Racing as they join forces for a weekend of Trans Am competition at one of motorsport’s most iconic venues. Making both his Indianapolis Motor Speedway debut and his first start in the Howe HR6, Butson and the team will look to capitalize on the opportunity and deliver a strong result in the GT class.
