Lightning Forces Cancelation of Qualifying at COTA, Helio Meza Starting From Point Position in CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series Debut

John Atwell Starting First in Pro/Am Challenge, Seamus McKendree to Lead Western Championship

AUSTIN, Texas (November 1, 2025) - Practice has concluded for the Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli’s CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series race at the season finale Mission Foods COTA SpeedTour at Circuit of The Americas. Due to lightning in the track’s safety radius, qualifying was canceled and the field will be set by times recorded in this morning’s practice session. Helio Meza (No. 27 Alessandros Racing/Chevrolet/SLR-M1 Chevrolet Camaro), who is making his CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series debut this weekend, will take the green flag from the point position in tomorrow’s race after laying down a practice time of 2:09.432.

John Atwell (No. 02 XRC/DFW Concrete/AJ Lap Portal Ford Mustang) will start first of the Pro/Am Challenge contenders, and Seamus McKendree (No. 20 Nitro Motorsports Ford Mustang) will start first of the Western Championship contenders.

The Mission Foods COTA SpeedTour will be contested tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. ET. It will be streamed LIVE on Trans Am’s YouTube channel, @TheTransAmSeries, and broadcast LIVE on SPEED SPORT 1.
