LTK Insulation Technologies Showcase Trans Am with Damon Racing

Bow, NEW HAMPSHIRE - October 19, 2020 - At times like these it can be easy to forget that without sponsorship, there would be very little, if any, professional motorsports. In the world of Trans Am we are grateful to our partners for continuing their support through 2020 and beyond. It's the people behind the cars on the grid that are the lifeblood of the sport and none more so than Damon Racing and LTK Insulation Technologies, stalwarts of the TA2 scene.

Damon Racing is the team behind the No. 97 Ford Mustang driven by New Hampshire entrepreneur Tom Sheehan who currently sits in a highly creditable P8 out of 43 starters in the 2020 Drivers Championship in a year when it's fair to say that luck hasn't been on his side. In addition to Tom, the key personnel behind the scenes at Damon Racing include Jamie Aube, Jeff Barnes, Matt Romanowski and Oliver Leary. The car they're running this year is a smart, bright yellow Ford Mustang based on the Mike Cope Racing platform.

The name of Mike Cope has long been associated with success in Trans Am TA2 racing. Mike excels as a car builder, winning the 2016 TA2 Championship with Tony Buffomante and supplying teams and drivers at the highest level of the Class.

Tom himself was feted at Virginia International Raceway when he became the first TA2 driver to score his 100th career start in Trans Am. The winner of the Iron Man award in 2019, Tom is a friendly and familiar face in TA2 and is known in the paddock as a very talented driver and a popular personality on grid.

Speaking of the next TA2 event on the horizon, Tom commented, "The team is headed down to Texas, looking forward to the race at CoTA. The track has been cruel to the 97 car over the years that we have raced it there. We are looking to turn that around and I will be in fighting form. All we can do is keep digging."

Headline partner of the No. 97 Ford Mustang are LTK Insulation Technologies. Tom has been in the insulation trade for 30 years having started in the field as a mechanic. Subsequently foreman, project manager and estimator, LTK Insulation Technologies is very much Tom's success creation. The company produces insulation jackets and covers carefully designed to allow fast, sure fit and 100% clean with a unique tool free installation process. They are designed for balance valves, control valves, flex hoses, in line specialties, couplings, quick connects, unions and zone pumps. Owners, balancers, mechanical pipe fitters, and project managers can all attest to the effectiveness and value this much needed product line brings to your project.

The Damon Racing team will be looking to get results that reflect the stunning lap times and performance Tom has been making behind the wheel before the curtain comes down on the season. The Series will host five more opportunities this season. First up is at CoTA November 6 - 8, then double-headers at both Road Atlanta, November 19 - 22, and the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca finale, December 4 - 6.
