Howe TA2 Drivers Haul in Season End Awards

[Partner Release] - The 2015 TA2 schedule concludes the Howe Long Haul Award in a flurry with two final event award winners plus a special season end bonus award and trophy. With only days separating the two final events of the season Trans Am teams headed west to the Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas then hustled east on Interstate highway 10 to the high banks of Daytona International Speedway. The long haul award for the trip to the capitol of the Lone Star State was awarded to Adam Andretti for a distance of 1,102 miles from Andretti’s home town of Brownsburg, Indiana. The $850 award will go to Andretti’s ECC Racing team owned by Arnie and AJ Henriksen. The award is small by comparison to Adams win at the same event. Andretti topped a strong field of competitors and was one of seven Howe cars completing the top ten.

At Daytona the final Howe Long Haul event award of the season went to Lakeville, Minnesota’s Jordan Bernloehr and the BC Race Cars team. If Jordan had traveled directly from his home town to the Florida speed shrine it would have taken him 1,526 mile south to the Atlantic coast of the sunshine state. Bernloehr also put in a solid performance in his Blaise Csida prepared Howe chassis with a fifth place finish. Jordan was in good company with seven other Howe chassis in the top ten including the event winner and series champion Gar Robinson. Brian Kubinski’s season also ended in a top ten run in his brand new white Howe Camaro in his TA2 debut.

Auburn, New Hampshire's Damon Racing and driver Tom Sheehan collected the inaugural “Howe Iron Mule Award” at the seasons end Trans Am Gala in Daytona Beach. The Damon Racing team and crew chief Jamie Aube traveled the greatest combined distance during the 2015 season while competing in a Howe chassis. The total distance of 27,360 miles traveled by Damon Racing exceeded that of Magnolia, Texas driver Joe Napoleon by less than 300 miles. The award includes a custom built trophy featuring a heavy cast-iron Mule to symbolize the hard working mule of the 1800’s and the iron back side needed for the equivalent of 19 days behind the wheel of the team’s transporter. The award also included a check for $1,000. This brings the total awards from Howe for 2015 to $11,200 between 12 different recipients.
