Harmon Shines with Career-Best P4 at Rain-Soaked Lime Rock; Matos Battles Adversity
May 27, 2025

Lakeville, CT (May 25, 2025) – Silver Hare Racing battled changing weather conditions and adversity at Lime Rock Park this Memorial Day weekend in Round 5 of the 2025 Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series. Despite a mechanical setback for Rafa Matos, young talent Noah Harmon delivered a career-best result, finishing fourth in Saturday’s race.
Harmon, back behind the wheel of the No. 7 CUBE 3 Architecture/Streetside Classics Chevrolet Camaro, qualified an impressive fourth in tricky, rain-affected conditions. Matos, who entered the weekend as the championship points leader following his win at Laguna Seca, qualified ninth after not getting the run he wanted in a rain-impacted qualifying session.
The race itself saw shifting weather patterns—starting dry, transitioning to rain, drying again, and ending in another downpour. Matos encountered a mechanical issue early in the event that sent the No. 57 Concord American Flagpole/Silver Hare Racing Chevrolet Camaro multiple laps down. The Silver Hare Racing crew worked swiftly to get him back on track, and Matos ultimately finished 23rd.
“Just wasn’t our day. We had a fast car, but just struggled in qualifying and the race—it was tough to pass, coupled in with the issue we had,” said Matos. “But overall, I want to thank Laura and Maurice, the SHR boys, Concord American Flagpole Company, Team Chevy, and Guy M. Turner for their support.”
For Harmon, the day showcased both poise and potential. After a well-timed stop for rain tires, he charged forward and maintained strong pace in the closing stages to bring home a fourth-place finish—his best result in the TA2 series to date.
“Yeah, that was so much fun. Overall, pretty good day. The race was super fun,” Harmon said. “Just ready to keep working and get that podium in Mid-Ohio. I want to thank CUBE 3, Streetside Classics for their help, and the entire SHR crew for everything.”
The Trans Am Series heads next to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, with Round 6 of the championship set for Saturday, June 21st.
