Hard Fought Finish for Burtin Racing at Mid-Ohio

Lexington, OH – August 17, 2016 – The weather conditions were fierce this weekend at the Mid-Ohio Sportscar Course where Burtin Racing and the Trans Am Series took stage with the NASCAR Xfinity Series for Round 6 of the ultra competitive season championship. The GoShare Corvette C7.R was challenged with rain, humidity and the glaring Midwest sunshine.
 
The team arrived at Mid-Ohio to unveil a new paint scheme for the GoShare Corvette. The racecar will sport an all black livery for the remainder of the 2016 championship with driver Claudio Burtin. The crew successfully put together a balanced setup that proved competitive in the First Energy Trans Am 100 race on Saturday.   
 
Burtin qualified 11th and put down a strong start looking confident as the car settled in to race pace. Quickly overtaking and making a charge up the field – the No. 7 GoShare Corvette gained five positions in the first half of the race. Caution flags plagued the track time needed to push further and contend with the race leaders. When the dust settled Burtin Racing crossed the line with a solid seventh place finish.
 
“It would have been a real gunfight at the end of race had we stayed green but it turned out that we finished it under yellow,” stated Claudio Burtin, team owner and driver. “I’d like to compliment the corner workers and track officials - they sacrifice themselves to help when there is trouble on-track and thank God nobody was injured from any of the incidents we saw this weekend.”

Burtin Racing and the GoShare Corvette are currently 8th in the season point standings and will head to Road America for the Trans Am 100 Round 7 on Saturday, August 27.
