Gian Buffomante Joins Nitro Motorsports for Full TA2 Program in 2025

Buffomante looks to build on learning and success in 2024 season
November 14, 2024 – Graduating through the Nitro Motorsports Karts to Cars program, 16-year-old Gian Buffomante is ready to advance to prime time. Set to contest in the Trans Am Series Presented by Pirelli TA2 class, Buffomante joins the back-to-back championship-winning program and looks to continue his progression and development.
“Gian is a young and natural talent whose family has racing in their blood,” expressed Nitro Motorsports’ Nick Tucker. “Gian raced with us at the karting level, and we have helped assist him in his strategic effort to get to where he is now. Competing across the country, gaining experience in 2024 with wins in multiple classes, Gian is now ready for the National series.”
Looking to follow in the footsteps of father Tony Buffomante, the 2016 TA2 champion who ranks third all-time in TA2 wins, Gian has successfully sampled several racecars throughout the past two seasons, both in open-wheel and sports car ranks.
“Gian has done well in all the cars he’s been able to drive throughout his short career, from a Micro sprint on dirt, to SRF3, Porsche Cup, and of course, the TA2 car,” explained Tony Buffomante. “Next year, we are looking forward to his continued development by running the full Trans Am Presented by Pirelli TA2 program and experiencing all of these new tracks and the intense competition that TA2 provides.”
Gian Buffomante added, “I’m excited to be running the entire TA2 series next year with Nitro Motorsports! I’ve run Nitro kart chassis and have gotten to know Nick and their operation over the past several years. I have some big shoes to fill as they have proven their success and domination in the past two seasons, but next year will be a great opportunity to learn and grow as I chase my karts to car dreams.”
