May 10, 2016

TEAM RELEASE Epic Motorsports brings the Series TA3 class point’s leader to Watkins Glen International for round 3 of the Trans Am 50th Anniversary Season. After two races Randy Mueller has a win at Road Atlanta and a second place finish at the season opener at Sebring for the points lead. Teammate Michael Camus has two solid 4th place finishes to enter the Classic Tube 100 at the Glen which puts him in4th place in the series points standings.
“I’ve got a bit experience at Watkins Glen.” Said Mueller. Who has been fortunate to have won races in other series at the fabled track.
This will be the first time for Camus to visit WGI. “I’ve lots of laps at the track and should be able to help Michael.” Mueller said. “Michael picks up tracks quickly. He is the best student that I’ve ever had. At Road Atlanta, he had never been there, but he ran the 3rd fastest lap of the event.”
“You tell him (Camus) something once and he can apply it.” Mueller said. For Watkins Glen, “I look forward to see how we are able to measure up.”
At Road Atlanta Mueller qualified third but got to the lead early on. He earned the bonus point for leading the most laps along the way to claiming his first race win of the 2016 campaign. “Its always good to leave a race event the winner, but we are always looking forward to the next race.” Mueller said. “Its only one step and our next goal is to carry the momentum to the Glen.”
Mueller holds a five point lead in the TA3 class standings over second place Lee Saunders after the first two races.
For Camus, he qualified his BMW M3 6th at Road Atlanta. With steady improvement he finished a solid 4th. Combined with the 4th place finish at the Sebring season starter Camus is also 4th in the Trans Am TA3 championship standings. He is only two points behind previous series class champion Jason Berkeley for the 3rd spot.
