Dominant Race and Podium for Damon Racing at Watkins Glen as Team Pivots North to Canada

Watkins Glen, NEW YORK – August 26, 2024 – It was Round 9 of the Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli and the CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 race showcased 100-miles of muscle car battles at their finest. Tom Sheehan and the Vixen Cycle LTK Mustang led a dominate portion of the race to score second place in Pro Am and P11 overall.
Sheehan and the No. 97 Vixen Cycle LTK Mustang entered the weekend with positive focus and Mike Cope preparations working well with cohesive teamwork. The professional enterprise of Mike Cope Racing is world-class and operates with the highest level of competition expertise.
After the practice results placed Sheehan P16, he was able to improve on that with P14 on the qualifying grid. The race was slated for 30 Laps and went green flag racing Friday with a slightly windy fall-feeling afternoon. A flying start of steady driving saw Sheehan gain three spots on Lap 1. The race was embellished with full-course-yellow caution events and finished under green with Mike Cope teammate Thomas Merrill taking the win and the top step.
“We had this one handed to us until the end run,” said Tom Sheehan. “There were a lot of cautions and the name of the game is just to stay clean. We have a good car for next weekend!”
Tom Sheehan and the No. 97 Vixen Cycle LTK Mustang remain sitting second place in the CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series Championship. The team will head to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park immediately to follow Watkins Glen, August 29 – 31.
