Cameron Lawrence leads TA2 practice in first official event in #11 car

Cameron Lawrence put in the fastest lap for the TA2 in Trans Am’s first run out of the weekend at historic Watkins Glen.  He and teammate Pete Halsmer took the top two spots in their matching Ctek Battery Chargers/Motorstate Chevrolet Camaros. 

 

Lawrence timed in at 2:00.314 and Halsmer at 2:00.421.  Lawrence is filling in for the absent Mike Miller who was unable to attend.  Following them was Kurt Roerhig in his #04 Roerhing Enders Suspension Chevrolet Camaro putting in a time 2:00.684.   Defending TA2 champion Bob Stretch put in a time of 2:03.318. 

 

The TA class was led by Jorge Diaz Jr. in his #8 Diaz Racing Jaguar XKR.  Diaz led all cars with a time of 1:51.357.  Following Diaz was Tony Ave in the #87 3Dimensional.com Chevrolet Corvette at 1:52.075. Ave, the series defending champion, is filling in for teammate Doug Peterson and will resume his usual place in the #4 car. Series points leader Simon Gregg in the #59 Gregg Motorsports Chevrolet Corvette came in third with a time of 1:52.506.
