Archer Brothers and ECC Motorsports Ready for Redemption at Road America
August 24, 2016
TEAM NEWS Duluth, MN – The famed 4 mile, 14-turn Road America road course will be the next stop for the Trans Am TA2 drivers and teams, as the series starts the second half of the 12 race season this weekend. The Archer Brothers and ECC Motorsports teams had a week off after an up and down weekend in Mid-Ohio 2 weeks ago, which has given both teams the necessary time to reflect, take action and start focusing on Road America. As the TA2 series continues to be one of the most competitive road racing series in North America and with the championship point’s standings so close - both teams are getting focused for this weekend in their own ways.
Tommy and the Archer Brothers team look to redeem themselves from a 24th place finish last year and hope to once again be on the podium at Road America. Archer, driving the #54 Engineered Components Company/KolarChev.com Chevrolet Camaro, sits just 4 points outside the top 10 in the championship point’s standings and is extremely confident with his car and the remaining races left in the season. “The Archer Brothers team has really found its momentum and stride after the last race. We know we have a solid car and one that can compete for wins each and every weekend,” says Tommy. “The partnership with ECC Motorsports continues to be beneficial and positive and we’re continuing to push for a win in 2016.”
Adam and the ECC Motorsports team will participate in this weekend’s race activities a little differently than they have throughout the 2016 Trans Am season. ECC Motorsports team driver AJ Henriksen will return to the track for his second time this year, after an 11th place finish at the season opener in Sebring. AJ will drive the #44 ECC Motorsports/Anchor Bolt & Screw Chevrolet Corvette in the Trans Am TA series and will have fellow teammate Adam Andretti supporting him with the weekend’s race activities. Andretti will not participate in this weekend’s TA2 race and instead, will be focused on providing expertise for his team driver throughout the weekend.
