Aaron Quine Returning to Trans Am Series in Team Weaver TA Dodge Challenger
June 13, 2025

MEDINA, OH— June 13, 2025 – Aaron Quine will return to the Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on June 21st, driving the Team Weaver TA Dodge Challenger.
This will be Quine’s 12th career Trans Am race, but his first time racing in TA. All of his previous starts have been in the CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series, and he’s excited for the opportunity to race in Trans Am’s top class.
“I was thrilled when Pancho Weaver offered me the opportunity to drive the Weaver Racing TA Dodge Challenger,” said Quine. “I’ve raced TA2, NASCAR Xfinity Series, an IMSA Porsche 911, GTP prototypes and dozens of other race cars, but I’m really excited to finally race a TA car. So many great drivers like Paul Menard, Boris Said and Wally Dallenbach Jr. have raced and won with this car, and it has class records at Mid-Ohio, Road America, Laguna Seca and more. I’m confident we can compete for a win at my home track.”
This will be Trans Am Series race number seven at Mid-Ohio for Quine, and he’s hoping that lucky number and his vast experience at the track will help him get him onto the top step of the podium. In addition to serving as an instructor at the Mid-Ohio School, the Akron-area native has been racing at the track since 1990 and has achieved many poles, wins and track records in SCCA’s T1 and T2 classes. He also spent a lot of time at the track as a kid, watching his Dad, Bill, who was a long-time Corvette racer. And he’s looking forward to racing against long-time friend Amy Ruman. “Amy and I both grew up at Mid-Ohio watching our parents race, and now we’ll be racing each other for the first time.”
“I’ve known Aaron a bit through racing, and he comes highly recommended from our mutual friends at ECC Motorsports,” said team owner Pancho Weaver. “We’re happy to put him in the car at Mid-Ohio because I think his experience at the track gives us an advantage over our competitors.”
Team Weaver designs and builds its own cars, with Boris Said serving as chief development driver. “Our cars are a little different from your average Trans Am team,” noted Weaver. “We build the chassis with round tubing rather than square tubing, which increases torsional rigidity and decreases weight. We run a Chris Sumner-built engine, a 6XD Gearbox sequential five-speed, and an exhaust system that sounds like an IndyCar. We’re fortunate to have support from companies like Ultimate Headers and Speed-It, and Aaron is also bringing some sponsorship. We’ll roll off the trailer at Mid-Ohio ready to win.”
In keeping with his philosophy of racing anything, anywhere, anytime, Quine will do double duty at Mid-Ohio and drive Jim Heck’s 1964 Corvette Group 6 car in the weekend’s Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA) event.
