Tyler Gonzalez Will Hunt for Race Wins in Select Trans Am Series Championship Events in 2025

No Stranger to the TA2 Podium, Gonzalez Returns to Nitro Motorsports in 2025
December 19, 2024 – With a stout driver lineup already in place for 2025, Nitro Motorsports is a little bit stronger today with the addition of Tyler Gonzalez. A podium winner in 2024, Gonzalez will return to the Trans Am Presented by Pirelli TA2 class in a part-time schedule with the goal of race wins, podium results, and helping continue the success of the potent Nitro Motorsports program.
“I am excited to be back in a Trans Am car, albeit on a limited schedule for now,” explained Tyler Gonzalez. “I can’t thank Nick, the entire Nitro Motorsports program, and my partners enough for the opportunity and support, and I look forward to getting started in Sebring in February.”
Competing in only four Trans Am Series Presented by Pirelli events in 2024, Gonzalez found his way to the podium on three occasions, with his worst finish being a fifth. In contention for the race win in each wheel-to-wheel race, the Floridian brings a ton of experience to the championship-winning Nitro Motorsports effort, including race wins in GT4 and a Toyota GR Cup North America title.
“There is no doubt that Tyler is a talent and has a very bright future in the world of professional motorsports,” added Nick Tucker, Owner of the back-to-back championship-winning team. “Tyler did a great job for us when he was in one of our cars in 2024, and with another year of experience under his belt, we are expecting even more. With only a partial campaign confirmed, he will be vying for race wins at each and every event he contends.”
Gonzalez continued, “I am ready to go. The Trans Am machinery suits my driving style, and the series is ultra-competitive. We have some winter testing upcoming, and I am excited to compete in my home state and at the Sebring International Raceway in February.”
