Team is Set to Diversify in Many Programs Next Season
August 22, 2024 – Set to miss the Trans Am Presented by Pirelli event this weekend at the Watkins Glen International Raceway, CB Motorsports is planning an expansion to multiple programs in 2025. With some of their Trans Am equipment currently up for sale, CB Motorsports entered a 600cc Non-Winged Micro Sprint event last weekend with team driver Caleb Bacon and will see action this coming weekend at Hickory Speedway in a Late Model machine.
“We want to expand and be involved in multiple programs in 2025 and are testing the waters on what that may look like,” explained CB Motorsports Team Principal Chad Bacon. “I have a great test driver at my disposal in my son Caleb, and together, along with teammates, we want to be on track a lot in 2025 and beyond.”
With some of their current Trans-Am equipment up for sale, CB Motorsports is looking at multiple avenues for 2025. Still planning to race at both the Virginia International Raceway and Circuit of the Americas to close out the 2024 Trans Am season, CB Motorsports will only miss Watkins Glen and Canada next weekend.
Bacon continued, “We have looked in the IMSA paddock as well as at the Ford Mustang Challenge and MX-5 Cup programs. We will likely stay in Trans Am as well, but we want to be able to offer different opportunities in several series. Caleb drove a 600cc Micro Sprint last week and will drive a Late Model on Saturday. These are two oval programs we are looking at as well.”
With shop space, transporters, crew, and more in place, CB Motorsports is open to different ideas from competitors throughout North America.
Bacon added, “Caleb will race next year, and will race a lot. I want to be able to lower my costs, but also give back to the sport that has given so much to our family. Whether it be a program alongside Caleb, or an effort that is stand-alone, we want to make the CB Motorsports brand known throughout many of the paddocks in North America.”
