Sheehan Forges Podium at Road America as Season Sets Sail into Second Half of Championship

Elkhart Lake, WISCONSIN – July 1, 2024 – It was Round 8 of the Trans Am Championship presented by Pirelli CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series wrapping up an action-packed weekend of motorsport at Road America. Tom Sheehan and the No. 97 Vixen LTK Mustang scored a second-place podium finish on Saturday, June 29, and leave the race weekend maintaining second place in the Pro Am Championship standings.
Sheehan and his Mike Cope team continue to progress the balance and finesse of consistency since joining up full-time in 2024. The sport is evolving, and unpredictability is always present in a highly competitive environment. Adaptability and integrity are high cards to hold.
The 25-lap race saw considerable full-course-caution laps with the Vixen Motorcycle LTK Mustang qualifying P18 on the starting grid. It was a rollercoaster race with Sheehan battling all over the top five ranks and running out front to take a strong lead in the Pro Am class with seven laps to go.
Lap times were dropping on the No. 97 Mustang as the pace was setting in and driver Tom Sheehan put down his fastest lap of the race with just four laps to go. The heart pounding finish to the event concluded with Sheehan taking P2 in class and P12 overall.
“It’s really fun getting around Road America," stated Tom Sheehan after the race. "Noell, Jason, Jamie, and Matt gave me great car to drive. The Mike Cope team worked hard to put that hot rod on the grid. I think I let one get away. I kept the car clean all day and stayed patient. The 97 team will be looking forward to getting back in the car."
