Nitro Motorsports Brings Six to Trans Am Event in Pittsburgh

Nitro Motorsports will be going for a double-class win at the Pittsburgh International Race Complex

June 5, 2024 – Set for some more wheel-to-wheel action this weekend at the Pittsburgh International Race Complex, Nitro Motorsports will bring six drivers to the sixth round of the Trans Am Series Presented by Pirelli. With numerous wins and countless podiums in 2024, the North Carolina-based program shows no signs of slowing down.

“We have a lot of momentum right now and want to continue to push for race wins, podium results, championship points, and more,” explained Nick Tucker. “It is a long season, and anything can happen, so we have to push while we can and get the results now to put pressure on our rivals.”

Leading the way into the Pittsburgh International Race Complex, Rafa Matos comes into the weekend as the most recent event winner and all-time TA2 Series race winner. Ben Maier, victorious in 2024, will look to earn his second win of the season after showing a ton of speed as of late, while multi-time national class podium victor Thomas Annunziata is looking for his breakthrough win this season. After some time away from the Trans Am Series, Tyler Kicera will return to make his 2024 debut, while Pro-Am Road Atlanta podium winner, Michele Abbate, will be joined by team newcomer and former NFL star Jared Odrick.

Tucker added, “We will be going for the double-class win. Michele and Jared have earned podium finishes in the Pro / Am ranks, but if we can get them to the top step and continue the success in the national class with our other drivers, it could be an epic weekend for Nitro Motorsports.”
