Tyler Kicera Returning to TA2 in Pittsburgh with Nitro Motorsports
May 15, 2024

Team Nitro Adds Another Driver and an Additional Podium Threat
May 15, 2024 – Tyler Kicera has been a familiar face in the Trans Am Presented by Pirelli TA2 paddock since 2020, capturing two wins, a pole position, and several additional runner-up and podium finishes in two full seasons of competition. Most recently, Kicera has been the driver coach behind the scenes at Nitro Motorsports, the defending TA2 championship-winning team. Ready to return behind the wheel, Tyler Kicera will again strap into a TA2 machine, this time at the upcoming June 7-9 national championship event at the Pittsburgh International Race Complex (PittRace).
As a native of Pennsylvania, it’s fair to say the 2.78 mile, 19-turn circuit in Wampum, Pennsylvania will serve as a home race. On making his return to the series, Kicera's enthusiasm is palpable.
“I’m thrilled to be back in TA2, especially with Nitro Motorsports and at Pitt Race where I have a lot of laps. I have a deep love for these cars, this series and have relished in my role of developing young talent in the paddock with Nitro. But nothing compares to being in the seat, so I’m eagerly anticipating this opportunity,” explained Kicera. “The track is going to be a thrilling challenge for everyone. I'm grateful to Nick Tucker at Nitro Motorsports and Kollab Group for making this happen.”
Since ending his last full-season drive at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in 2022 with Stevens Miller Racing, Kicera has been driven by a single goal to bounce back stronger. He made one start with Nitro Motorsports in 2023 at VIR, where he is a past winner. Unfortunately, luck was not on his side as an early race incident dashed his hopes of a result. Undeterred, Kicera is determined to put his VIR heartbreak behind him and is setting his sights on a strong performance.
Before Tyler Kicera races in June, Nitro Motorsports, and the rest of the Trans Am Series Presented by Pirelli will make the trip to Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, Connecticut, over the May 24-27 weekend.
