Weaver Chassis, Ernie Francis Jr. and ECC Take the Pole at Sebring

Sebring International Raceway, one of the most challenging tracks of all of the iconic Trans Am races on the 2024 schedule, starts a competitive new year with one of the most technical, demanding and is the roughest track in North America.

Trans Am’s TA class boasts the fastest purpose-built muscle cars that emulate Detroit best. All of the top names have driven in the Trans Am series for over 68 years. Pancho Weaver, owner of Weaver Racing Concepts, is here again with the only Dodge effort in the TA. Class. We have built four Dodge TA raccars and have competed in the SCCA top class Trans Am for the past six years.

This year we have two of them entered, with a joint effort of ECC and Weaver racing concepts. The two companies have formed an alliance to share all performance information, from new products to shock testing to engines, as well as new chassis and aero updates.

“Congratulations to Ernie Francis Jr. and car owner AJ Hendrickson for their effort, earning them the number one qualifier position,” said Pancho Weaver. “Boris Said was entered in the No. 2 Weaver Racing bright yellow house car, but with regret, we needed to retire that car due to electrical issues. We decided to take the car back to the shop to find the real problem after changing everything we could think of at the track. We will take it back, sort it out and have it really ready for Boris at Atlanta. It was really hard to pull the entry and not run the well-recognized Dodge Challenger here today. Many thanks go out to all of our sponsors and great friends that help this team compete. Ultimate Headers, STEEL-IT steel particle paint, Householder Motorsports. Nova Engines, Pro System Brakes, SRI Performance. Also, thanks to fantastic friend and great driver, Boris Said and Chris Sumner on Engines. Thanks to the crew: Nathan Slusser, Charles Jenckes, Derek Stamets, and Shane McDonald.”

Weaver Racing Concepts has been building performance in Trans Am and GT1 since 1980. Currently building chassis No. 50 to be a new Toyota Camry hopefully to debut later this year.
