Dyson and Drissi Top Practices at World Wide Technology Raceway, Green & Zilisch Fastest in TA2

Milton Grant Tops SGT in Both Sessions

MADISON, Ill. (September 22, 2023) – Practice has concluded for the Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli at World Wide Technology Raceway. Chris Dyson in the No. 16 GYM WEED Ford Mustang was fastest overall in the first session with a best time of 57.968, while Austin Green in the No. 89 3-Dimensional Services Group Ford Mustang topped the Big Machine Vodka SPIKED Coolers TA2 Series, running first in his class with a 59.808. Milton Grant was best in the SGT class, laying down a lap time of 1:07.322 in his No. 55 Springhill Suites/Sentry Self Storage Porsche 991.1 GT3 Cup.

In the second session, Tomy Drissi in the No. 8 Lucas Oil Ford Mustang led the session overall with a time of 58.938, while Connor Zilisch in the No. 7 Silver Hare Racing Chevrolet Camaro led TA2 with a time of 59.375. Milton Grant also topped the second session for SGT with a 1:07.095.

Qualifying for the Gateway SpeedTour will take place tomorrow morning at 8:30 a.m. CT, and the all-class race will be contested at 1:10 p.m. CT. The race will be streamed live here and broadcast live on MAVTV Select, with additional same-day coverage at 5:00 p.m. on MAVTV. The TV broadcast replay of the race will air on MAVTV on Thursday, September 28 at 8:00 p.m. ET.
