Darin Mock has top-10 run cut short at NOLA in TA2 Race

MOORESVILLE, NC – Darin Mock and the No. 51 AAN Adjuster Ford team had an unfortunate ending to a great run at NOLA Motorsports Park on Saturday.

After some productive practice sessions, he and the Nitro Motorsports team qualified 14th for the Big Machine Vodka Spiked Coolers TA2 race. In the early going, Mock was biding his time and avoided incidents brought on by other drivers.

With poise and confidence, he broke into the top-10 running positions with a solid finish as his goal. However, a mechanical failure with 11 laps remaining relegated him to the garage area early.

In the final race results, it will show Mock and the No. 51 Ford team finished in 22nd place. But, they both know they were much better on track than what the end results show.

“We had some solid practice sessions and the Nitro Motorsports team kept working on the car to make it better,” Mock said. “We showed that by qualifying 14th and really started to get better during the race.

“Once we cracked to the top-10, I had my sites set on getting that good finish we had worked so hard for all weekend. When the mechanical problem started, I hated it for all of us.

“We didn’t get the finish we wanted, but I must congratulate my Nitro teammates Brent Crews on the win and Thomas Annunziata on his top-five finish. That was great to see, and I know our day is coming, too.”

Mock and team leave NOLA 15th in points with highs hopes for the next event at Road Atlanta the weekend of March 25 and 26.
