OPTIMA Batteries to Sponsor Bruce Raymond in Trans Am Series Through 2023

Raymond’s Performance announced today that OPTIMA Batteries has signed on to sponsor Bruce Raymond’s No. 54 Ford Mustang in the Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli through 2023. Raymond’s Auto and Truck Repair also returns to the team in 2022.
Raymond, who runs in the series’ TA2 class, will be competing for the Pro/Am Challenge championship for the second-consecutive season. The 58-year-old driver began road racing in 2005, competing in the National Auto Sports Association (NASA), the OPTIMA Ultimate Streetcar Challenge, and the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA), where he won two GT2 class races at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in 2018. Raymond also won the overall championship in SVRA’s Group 10 competition in 2019 and 2020. The Springfield, Ill. native purchased his first TA2 car in 2020, and in 2021 he finished second in the Trans Am Pro/Am Challenge.

The 2022 Trans Am season kicked off at Sebring (Fl.) International Raceway on February 24-27. Raymond’s OPTIMA Batteries/Raymond’s Auto and Truck Repair Mustang will next hit the track at Charlotte Motor Speedway’s ROVAL on March 17-20.
