NEWS FLASH: Time runs out, Merrill takes TA2 victory at Mid-Ohio

A scoring recheck determined that time expired in Sunday’s Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli TA2® Powered by AER prior to a late result. The results went back to the last completed lap, giving the victory to Thomas Merrill in the No. 81 Diehl-Merrill Racing/HP Tuners/Mike Cope Racing Ford.
Scott Lagasse finished second in the No. 92 M1 Racecars/Team SLR/Fields Racing Chevrolet Camaro, followed by Mike Skeen’s No. 77 Liqui Moly/Turn 14 Chevrolet Camaro.

Rafa Matos started on the pole before being passed by Merrill on the 15^th lap. Racing without power steering, Matos went off with a late-race electrical problem that forced the event to end under caution.
