Once the Dust Settled

Alton, Va. – After several days of review, The Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli has revised the finishing order of the TA2 event held this past weekend at Virginia International Raceway (VIR). Dillon Machavern driving the Stevens-Miller Racing (SMR) No.77 Liqui Moly Ford Mustang has been elevated to second in the official results.

Machavern said, “We’d worked all weekend to get the handling right. We had some understeer in qualifying that held us back but in the race my car was consistent and had enough pace to stay with the lead pack. From the start the guys up front were being very aggressive so I decided to play it conservative, lay back, save my car and hit my marks.

He said during the final few laps the two leaders were banging on each other until it finally happened. “Seeing the leader back flip at full speed was the scariest thing I’d ever seen.. I was relieved and glad he was okay.

“The whole Stevens-Miller Liqui Moly racing crew have worked extremely hard over the last few races and it has been a difficult stretch so finishing on the podium represents their dedication and teamwork. The new PREFIX Choice engine package performed flawlessly and now that the dust has settled from VIR I’m excited and ready to get to Austin.”

NOTE:

Dillon and his No. 77 Liqui Moly Mustang will be at the annual SEMA show. Come by the Liqui Moly booth No. 50719 Wednesday and Thursday 10 am – Noon and receive a signed poster.
