Funk enters Limited-Edition Mustang at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course

Race car driver, entrepreneur, real estate investor and owner of Northshore Racing Team, Larry Funk of Oberlin, OH will debut his Mustang FP350S in August. Number 32 of only 50 built by Watson Racing for Ford, Funk will participate in the SCCA Trans Am race at Mid Ohio Sports Car Course on August 9-10 off I-71 in Lexington, OH.

The Mustang is a “turn-key race car designed for road racing competition ... developed to compete in the TransAm and SCCA racing classes,” according to the Ford website.

“We saw the Mustang on display at the Ford Booth at PRI (Performance Racing Industry Trade Show) in December 2016 and ordered it early in the spring of 2017,” said Northshore Racing Team sponsor Shirley Hull of Business Advisory Services.
Funk has had his own share of success in SCCA racing including a first place finish in the SCCA Central Division Championship, SCCA Trans Am Rookie of the Year along with numerous Podium finishes throughout his career. This summer, fans can preview the heart-racing experience at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.
The race weekend at Mid Ohio starts on Friday, August 9 at 1PM with the GT Class qualifying for Funk and the Mustang, a Paddock Open House from 2-3PM. Saturday opens with a race followed by the B&L Transport 170 NASCAR Xfinity Race at 3PM which will be televised on CBS Sports Network.
