LEXINGTON, Ohio. [August 11, 2018] – When Boris Said takes to the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course for the FirstEnergy Trans Am 100 he will do so in familiar colors, behind the wheel of the debuting No. 21 Monster Energy/ Weaver Concepts Dodge Challenger.
Better yet, Said and Weaver Concepts Racing are able to celebrate their new partnership with Monster Energy with a front row start in second position on the TA class grid.
“I'm really now just getting comfortable with this new Weaver car and it's got a lot more to give,” said Said. “I really haven't tapped its potential yet but tomorrow should make for a fantastic race. The crew has prepared an awesome car for me tomorrow and I'm pleased with their ability to give me a winning platform. I can't wait for that green flag to fly and get to work.”
Team owner and fabricator Pancho Weaver believes the combination of Said, chief engineer Chris Willes and Monster Energy is a winning one; capable of more than holding its own in the ever competitive area of Trans Am racing.
“We are ecstatic to represent Monster Energy and Dodge Motorsports with this new 2018 Challenger to compete at the top level of Trans Am road racing,” said Weaver. “It's my goal to bring back more top name sponsors and iconic drivers like Boris to our series and to increase car counts with cost efficient performing race cars. We believe this partnership, between Monster Energy and Boris Said, is an example for all those to follow.”
