74 Ranch Racing legacy continues with Gar Robinson in 2015
January 26, 2015

Miami, Fla. (Jan. 20, 2015) – The 74 Ranch Racing team has a long and storied history in the realm of motorsports, particularly in the Trans Am Series where George Robinson competed from behind the wheel of the 74 Ranch Resort Chevrolet Camaro from 1988 to 1994.
During the 2015 Trans Am Championship, Gar Robinson will be resuming that story in the TA2 class behind the wheel of his own 74 Ranch Resort Chevrolet Camaro.
“We really are getting the band back together,” said Robinson. “Everyone here worked together on the team in the late eighties and early nineties; the same determination, the same dedication to our sport, it’s all here. I grew up around these guys. Now, we’re back in Trans Am doing it all over again.”
Gar Robinson competed in the final three rounds of the 2014 Trans Am Championship finishing fourth in every race, a remarkable start to his Trans Am career.
“I’m pleased with how we finished those three races, don’t get me wrong,” said Robinson, “but we saw them as a shakedown and a test run, getting ready for 2015. I firmly believe that between myself and Shane (Lewis) we have a great team and we’re going to be aiming for those podium spots. That’s where we need to be in 2015. In 2016 I hope we’re vying for a Championship.”
Robinson’s 74 Ranch Chevrolet Camaro sports the same livery as his father’s with the 74 Ranch orange and blue interlocking on white and the Texas state flag on the roof.
“At the end of the day, it’s surreal,” said Robinson, “having Robinson Racing and 74 Ranch back in Trans Am with everyone together again. It’s exciting, and we’re ready to compete in 2015.”
Gar Robinson and his teammate Shane Lewis will first take to the track at the 2015 Trans Am Season Opener, the Foametix Trans Am 100, on March 1, 2015.
