3Dimensional.com Driver’s Spotlight: Clint Sawinski and Jerry Greene

The International Group stands as the most encompassing and diversified class in the Trans Am Series, welcoming a plethora of makes and models—all flying under the Trans Am banner. It’s a class reminiscent of the thoroughly International past of Trans Am, days when Porsches and Audis were just as familiar of a sight as cars of America make.

Now two drivers are showing off an international platform in Trans Am once more, putting on a show of foreign force as they battle Corvettes and Vipers, all behind the wheels of their Porsche machines.

The Minnesota-based team is composed of Clint Sawinski, of Minnetrista, MN, and Jerry Greene, of Minnetonka, MN, with each showcasing German engineering to its fullest. Sawinski, behind the wheel of the No. 94 Temp Air Porsche Super Cup, and Greene in the No. 93 Ever Green Jewelry Porsche GT3 Cup, have each had strong showings so far this year, standing fifth and seventh in the points despite only running two races—the last two rounds at Road America and Mid-Ohio.

While Greene’s results have been solid, a pole position and fifth and sixth place finishes, Sawinski has put in very impressive results: a first place finish at Road America and a second place finish at Mid-Ohio, showcasing what the International Group and the Porsche platform are truly capable of in Trans Am.

Jerry Greene will be in attendance as Trans Am visits Brainerd International Raceway this coming weekend, August 31, for Round 8 of the Trans Am Championship.
