Cameron Lawrence’s racing career started at the age of 7 when he began racing Quarter Midgets in the central Florida area. He worked his way up through 3 different classes while learning car control and fundamental driving skills. During those years Cameron won numerous races while simultaneously competing in 2 classes. At the age of 12, he won the state championship in the most competitive class in which we competed, Senior Honda.
His local track was closed the following year and Cameron decided to focus on baseball. It wasn’t until after he graduated from high school that Cameron took up racing again.
Cameron Lawrence recently just completed his second full season in GTA. After finishing 2nd in points while earning V8StockCar Rookie of the Year he worked on improving for 2012. In only his second season he became V8StockCar GTA Points Champion. Also during the 2012 season Cameron competed in 5 SCCA Trans-Am Series races. In those 5 race weekends he finished 2nd a total of three times and finished off the year with a win at Road Atlanta.
In 2013, Cameron Lawrence won eight of ten races and finishing second in the other two. Cameron’s point total of 210 was 106 point ahead of the second place finisher in the series. Cameron won eight pole position starts and led the most laps in six of the ten races. As a result, Cameron became the youngest Champion in the history of Trans Am.
