More abou the Team: Big Diehl Racing was formed in 2017 from the partnership of Richard Diehl and Thomas Merrill, racing in the Trans Am series in the TA2 category.  They burst onto the scene late that year entering their first race at Circuit of the Americas and immediately running in the top five. Since then, the team has expanded to two cars and collected the 2018 West Coast Championship and Rookie of the Year awards.  The team’s namesake is an homage to Richard’s father, who was known as the “Big Diehl.
