Berkeley Recovers From Two Pit-Lane Forays to Take Fourth at Road Atlanta
May 10, 2014

(Team Release) (Braselton, GA - May 10, 2014) After starting the weekend with strong performances, qualifying on the outside of the front row, and topping the charts in practice 2, Berkeley Motorsports team principal and driver Jason Berkeley brought the BMG Management Corvette C6R home to a hard-faught fourth place finish in TA3 at the Trans Am series 100 Miles of Luna-C at Road Atlanta.
"The result is disappointing considering we started on the outside of the front row. A drive through penalty at the start of the race and a broken hood-pin had us in pit lane twice during the race. The crew did a great job securing the hood and getting us back on track quickly. We pushed hard, running at qualifying speed for the next 20 laps at a pace that was 4-5 seconds a lap quicker than the second and third place cars," according to Berkeley. 'We got to within reach of those guys, and I pushed a bit too hard and beached it in turn 12. On to NJMP, where we hope it will all come together for our first Trans Am series podium.'
Berkeley and the BMG Management Berkeley Motorsports team race next at The Trans Am series RACINGJUNK.COM 100 at New Jersey Motorsports Park the weekend of May 29 - June 1, in conjunction with the ARCA series and select World Challenge classes.
