 Wilwood Disc Brakes and Trans Am announce TA2 contingency program

TA2 Rookie of the Year and Rookie of the Race honors now in place

MIAMI, Fla. [February 23, 2015] – The Trans Am Race Company has announced an additional contingency program for the 2015 Trans Am Championship, the result of a partnership with Wilwood Disc Brakes. The program sees Wilwood as an Official Contingency and TA2 Rookie of the Year Sponsor.

“Wilwood is a name known throughout the motorsports and automotive community for quality,” said John Clagett, President of the Trans Am Race Company. “We’re very excited to have them here contributing to the TA2 class and what we are continuing to build in the Trans Am Series.”

The contingency program includes the Wilwood TA2 Rookie of the Year and Wilwood TA2 Rookie of the Race. Each race the highest finishing TA2 rookie driver will receive a $500 dollar product certificate for Wilwood products, and come the season finale the highest finishing TA2 rookie in the 2015 Trans Am Championship point standings will receive a complete brake system from Wilwood—a value of over $3,000—as well as a custom Wilwood TA2 Rookie of the Year trophy.

Round One of the 2015 Trans Am Championship, the FOAMETIX® Trans Am 100, will have a strong contingency of drivers vying for the Wilwood Rookie of the Race honor, with 17 rookies set to partake in the TA2 class.
