Voyazides Becomes First International Howe Long Haul Award
March 14, 2016

Greek born TA2 Driver Leo Voyazides from London, England and Connecticut based Cobra Automotive have been awarded the Howe Racing Enterprises Long Haul Award for the opening 2016 event in Sebring, Florida. The Howe Long Haul Award goes to the driver that is competing in a Howe chassis who has traveled the greatest distance. Each team may only win the $850 product award once during the 12 event season. In addition a $1,000 check and a custom built Iron Mule trophy will be awarded to the TA2 team that travels the most total miles during the season.
The Grabber Blue number 23 Mustang is coincidently one of 23 different Howe chassis competing in the 35 car field at Sebring. This is the same car that was on display in the Howe booth at the December 2015 Performance Racing Industry trade show.
Howe cars made up seven of the top ten including fast qualifier and race winner Gar Robinson. Adam Andretti finished second in the ECC Dodge Challenger with Robinson's teammate Shane Lewis in fourth. Lewis was followed across the stripe by another Challenger driven by rookie competitor Louis Philippe Montour of Stevens Miller racing. This was the first race for Montour in TA2 having competed in 2015 in a Dodge Viper in the US GT Championship Series. Other Howe cars in the top ten included Canadian driver Peter Klutt in seventh place with a Dodge Challenger, Ron Keith in the CBRT Mustang eighth and Jordan Bernloehr in the BC Race Cars Camaro finishing ninth.
No story on the Sebring event would be complete without mention of Tommy Archer in the Archer Brothers Howe Gen 5 Camaro. After qualifying in the third position, a late to grid penalty sent the Minnesota native to the rear of the 35 car field. A miraculous driving exhibition saw the veteran move through the field and into second place. A spin on the final lap moved Archer back to an eleventh place finish but it was none the less a remarkable performance.
Howe Racing Enterprises was founded in 1971 and has been involved in the TA2 class since its inception in 2011. Howe produces a wide variety of specialized racing components in addition to partial and complete cars for asphalt racing worldwide.
